Becoming a walk leader

Group Coordinators & Volunteer Walk Leaders as well as facilitators often need extra support on the ground in the delivery of a walking programme. Get Ireland Walking aims to provide that support.

Our Walk Leader Toolkit aims to provide consistent and clear guidance on various issues and difficulties that Group Coordinators & Volunteer Walk Leaders may face during their time delivering one of Get Ireland Walking’s community-based programmes.

This toolkit is aimed at Group Coordinators & Volunteer Walk Leaders, Local Sports Partnerships and facilitators of Get Ireland Walking groups and programmes.

This toolkit aims to provide practical guidance and tips and act as a handy tool to refer back to whenever it is needed.

Free Walking Group Co-ordinator/ Volunteer Walk Leader Insurance

When you register your walking group with Get Ireland Walking, your Walking Group Co-ordinator(s) and Volunteer Walk Leader(s) will be covered for free under the Get Ireland Walking Insurance Policy.

The most common excuses we hear

and our advice!
